In The Community: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington Annual Black & White Gala 2016

Pilar’s Catering is proud to be providing a delicious menu for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington’s Annual Dinner, Dance & Auction in Bowmanville, on Saturday, November 5th, 2016, and would like to invite you to attend this very worthy cause. (And, for those of you who can’t get enough of our amazing gourmet food, here’s another chance to come out and enjoy, all while supporting a great local charity!)

Supporting the Durham Region for nearly 40 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington was founded in 1977 and has been creating friendships ever since.

The Event

Tickets for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington’s Annual Black & White Gala are going fast, but we want to make you aware that you can still purchase tickets to this highly anticipated event. This year there are plenty of awesome silent and live auction items that will be up for grabs. We don’t want you to miss out on this opportunity for a good night out with friends and family, while supporting this amazing organization.

The Menu

Our Pre-Reception Appetizers will consist of a host of delectable menu items, including Caribbean coconut shrimp with mango pepper salsa, mini Sicilian prosciutto and smoked ham muffletta with provolone, tapenade and creamy pesto aioli, Asian-grilled Hoisin beef skewer, and aged Brie and caramelized brown sugar pear crostini.

For the Main Course, we will be serving fresh rolls and butter, and starting with our Salad Course of colourful baby mixed greens with candied walnuts, crumbled goat cheese, dried cranberries, and drizzled in aged House Balsamic vinaigrette. Our Entree consists of frenched, charbroiled Chicken Supreme, stuffed with hickory-smoked bacon, aged applewood-smoked cheddar, sauteed shallots and cranberries, with Calvados apple jus lie.

For our Vegetarian Guests, we will be serving our extravagant Eggplant Napoleon, Panko-breaded and fried to golden perfection, layered with grilled zucchini, sharp Provolone cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, and finally topped with a robust tomato-basil marinara sauce.

Our entree will be accompanied by our Chef’s delicious Vegetable and Starch selections, including roasted garlic and herb mini red-skined smashed potatoes, buttery field fresh asparagus, grilled red and yellow pepper spears, drizzled in Greek olive oil, and seasoned with sea salt and fresh cracked pepper.

If you’ve still got room, our amazing Dessert Course consists of our decadent Petite Crème Brulee, garnished with tiny Biscotti, and Dark Chocolate Mousse Tart with raspberry garnish.

Tea & Coffee will also be served.
